Professionals want to continue developing
The theme of lifelong learning is high on the national agenda and is actively promoted by the government and the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science. Educational institutions are responding en masse to the growing demand for training, courses, and education among professionals in the labor market.
This requires adjustments to the educational offerings and to the organization of information and promotion. Reaching the right target groups with the right message and an appropriate offering is crucial for educational institutions to be successful as providers of training, courses, and education for professionals in the business world.
Did you know that...
More than a third of high school students say they need more information about further education? The same applies to about half of all students. Students miss real stories from students and honesty in the information provided by educational institutions. In addition, they would also like to receive more information about the future prospects offered by different courses and more course-specific information.
Lifelong Development among professionals
To support educational institutions in their information needs, Markteffect published the National Lifelong Learning Survey again Markteffect 2020. The results of this survey among professionals (secondary vocational education, higher professional education, and university education levels) with training needs are described in a trend report. This report provides insight into the motivation behind professionals' training needs, the role of the employer, the orientation and selection process, and the wishes regarding the content of a training program, course, or training.
The study covers the following topics:
- Need for education, courses, and/or training, and at what level;
- Role of the employer in choosing a program, course, and/or training;
- Role played by the employer in motivating the employee;
- Initiative taken by professionals to follow a course, training program, or education;
- The choice of the desired provider;
- The orientation process (method of orientation, information requirements, and factors influencing the choice);
- The choice of a vocational college, university of applied sciences, university, work-related institution, or private educational institution;
