Insight into the target group via the Online Community Survey for RAAK Gazeuse

RAAK Gazeuse is the colorful thirst quencher. Lemonade with surprising flavors and colors, but without sugar. The RAAK Gazeuse bottles are a real eye-catcher in supermarkets, partly because of their striking colors, and are now an indispensable part of the soft drink shelves. RAAK Gazeuse is available in four flavors: Raspberry, Campagne Pils, Tropical, and Bubblegum.

RAAK Gazeuse wishes to conduct research to map out the playing field, the target group, and the assessment of RAAK Gazeuse. A clear need for information has been expressed, whereby the playing field will be mapped out on the one hand and, on the other hand, the focus will be on insights into the wishes and expectations of young people in the field of soft drinks. Market research agency Markteffect engaged as a research partner to obtain these insights, among other things.

Our approach

In order to obtain qualitative insights for this study, an online community study was chosen. An online community makes it possible to reach difficult target groups, such as 'young people' in this case. The young people could log in from home and participate in the study during the day, whenever they wanted. In addition, the online community study offered opportunities such as:

  • Presenting different types of questions (individual vs. group);
  • Initiating discussions;
  • Displaying diverse visual material;
  • Having specific tasks carried out.

This made the Online Community survey comprehensive and ensured that respondents remained engaged in the survey. Using this methodology, we were able to answer RAAK Gazeuse's questions. On the last day of the survey, all participants even took part in an in-home taste test to try out new flavors!

This online community was set up among young people over a period of three days, yielding representative insights that could be built upon further.

Results

Conducting the Online Community survey provided insights into the preferences and perceptions of the target group, yielding deeper insights into their experiences and daily situations, wishes, and needs regarding soft drink consumption and trying new flavors. RAAK Gazeuse can shape its proposition based on the results collected.
