A customer journey study can be conducted in various ways. The exact approach and method will therefore be determined by your specific issue. If the aim of the research is to be able to make representative statements about the entire target group, then quantitative research is a better choice.

How is target group research conducted?

Target group research is conducted in various ways. For example, quantitative (online) research can provide insight into whether different segments can be distinguished. Often, there is more than one interesting target group for a specific product or service, but there are also several segments that can be distinguished within each target group. Quantitative research can be used to identify these target groups and also provide detailed insight into the behavior and aspects that play an important role for each target group.

Another way to conduct target group research is through qualitative research, for example in the form of in-depth interviews or an online community. Sometimes this complements the quantitative research mentioned above, as it allows for more in-depth analysis and dialogue with the target group. To conduct targeted image research, your company's identity and desired image are taken as starting points. Who are we and how do we want to be seen? The desired image can consist of characteristics in which the organization wants to excel, also known as image values. An organization that wants to profile itself as innovative can use this to test the extent to which the target group recognizes this. A positioning study is a more detailed version of brand awareness and image research.

The research will never be conducted according to a 100% fixed design. This is because every organization, every market, and every target group is different. Your positioning research with us is completely customized and tailored to your organization, your current positioning, and your target group. Of course, we will draw on the lessons and knowledge we have gained from other studies, but a unique study will be conducted. We are happy to work with you to explore the possibilities and the right methodology for your positioning issue.

In most cases, quantitative research is used, by means of an online questionnaire. However, there are also cases where organizations do not know exactly who their most important competitors are in the eyes of the target group, or where they do not know what the most common and important associations, wishes, and needs are. In that case, they may choose to start with exploratory qualitative research, for example in the form of in-depth interviews or an online community.

How is a taste test conducted?

A number of factors are important for conducting a good taste test: the target group, the test location, and a well-prepared questionnaire.

A good taste test starts with the right target group. It is important to clearly identify who the target group is. One person may experience the product completely differently from another. Good screening and preparation are therefore very important. The second point is the test location. People may experience a product differently when they are approached on the street compared to an environment where they have the time to experience a product in peace. Think, for example, of tasting, testing, and experiencing wine. Next, it is important to draw up a good questionnaire to address the right topics.

How is a usability study conducted?

A usability study is conducted based on three methods, namely web usability, mouse tracking, and eye tracking. In addition, an Online Community is also regularly used if the situation or research question requires it. For each study, we examine which methods are most suitable for your research question and which may be necessary for a good study.

If you cannot find the answer you are looking for on this page, you can always contact Markteffect directly Markteffect sending an email to:markteffect.

When is a questionnaire considered to have been completed seriously and in full?

Unfortunately, this means you will not be eligible to win any of the prizes.

Filling out a questionnaire seriously means that you have read the questions and answer options carefully and thought about them before answering. When an open question is asked, we also expect serious participants to type a clear answer and not just ramble on the keyboard.

Please note! There is no point in filling in the questionnaire multiple times yourself.

If you have completed the questionnaire via your own personal link, the questionnaire will not count and you will have less chance of winning a prize.

When will I have a chance to win one of the prizes?

Every participant who completes the questionnaire seriously and in full has a chance to win one of 200 gift vouchers worth €25. If you, as a participant, choose to share your personalized link with peers and they also complete the questionnaire seriously and in full, your chance of winning one of the 50 gift vouchers worth €50 doubles with every new respondent you refer!

  • Did you fill out the questionnaire yourself? Then you could win a prize!
  • Did you forward the questions? Then you have a chance to win extra prizes.
  • The more often you have others fill out the questionnaire, the higher your chances of winning a prize.
    • Please note! The questionnaires must be completed seriously.
  • Did you fill out a questionnaire for someone else? Then you could win prizes too!

When will I know if I have won one of the prizes?

The Imagomonitor survey will run until early 2023. Once all the data has been collected, Markteffect will Markteffect analyzing it. After that, we will hold a prize draw and the winners will receive an email from us.

  • By In the first week of February you will receive an email if you have won.
  • Keep an eye on your junk mail!
  • Didn't receive an email? Unfortunately, you didn't win a prize.

What exactly can I win?

Participants who submit the questionnaire will also have a chance to win a gift card worth €50. The more times you submit the questionnaire, the more chances you have to win!
