Optimize your product with the power of an in-home use test

Does your product meet the needs of your customers, fit your brand, and live up to the expectations created by the concept idea and packaging? Because a product is more than just packaging or an idea, we believe that testing and evaluating the physical product by the intended target group adds significant value.

How is an in-home use test conducted?

We have developed an online survey that provides insight into the acceptance of your product. In an in-home use test, respondents first evaluate the concept and then the product. This allows us to determine whether the product fits the concept and vice versa. We are already conducting this survey in various countries.

The in-home use test provides valuable insights for the further development of your concept and gives a clear picture of the product's potential, such as the likelihood of repeat purchases. For an optimal user experience, respondents receive the products at home. This allows them to test the product in their own familiar environment and at times when they would normally use similar products. You can't get any closer to the actual usage situation in research.

Consumers first assess the concept idea and packaging on a number of fixed aspects. They then actually try out the product, answering a set of evaluation and optimization questions. Finally, questions about the fit with the concept and purchase intention follow. Thanks to the semi-automated setup, we offer our clients a clear and effective tool to gain quick and cost-efficient insight into the concept fit of the product.

How does Markteffect make an in-home use test unique?

Based on years of research, we have developed a validated benchmark: the Markteffect Index (MPI). This index combines six different aspects. At a glance, this index score puts the results of your research into perspective and provides insight into whether the score you achieved is a good score or not.

The in-home use test includes this benchmark as standard. We strive to provide you with the best and most relevant insights.

By listening carefully to you, analyzing your question, and only then providing advice, we ensure relevance. With more than 30 years of experience, we know the market inside out. This helps us understand what you need from us. As a result, we are happy to provide you with appropriate advice. We use a proven approach for this, in which cooperation with our clients is central. Feel free to contact us without obligation to discuss the possibilities.

What are the benefits of an in-home use test?

An in-home use test provides insight into how consumers experience your product in their own environment, helping them to form an honest opinion about aspects such as taste, texture, ease of use, and effectiveness. The result is a detailed picture of the acceptance of your product, including its alignment with the concept and the likelihood of repeat purchases. By having the products tested at home, it becomes clear whether the product actually meets the needs and expectations of consumers.

In addition, the Markteffect Index (MPI) provides you with a validated benchmark against which you can compare and assess your results. These insights enable you to further develop and optimize your concept and gain a clear picture of your product's market potential.
