Part of the Prijsvergelijken website is a blog, which provides additional information about the use of telecommunications. For PR purposes and to create content for the blog, Prijsvergelijken wanted Markteffect to conduct two studies: one general study on parental supervision of digital media use by children between the ages of 6 and 12, and one additional study on this supervision during the coronavirus crisis.
To gain insight into parental supervision of Dutch children's digital co-use, a quantitative survey was conducted among more than 1,000 Dutch parents of children aged 6 to 12. Given the size of the target group, it was possible to make representative statements.
Research showed, among other things, that many parents adjusted their approach to their child(ren)'s digital media use during the coronavirus pandemic. Due to temporary home schooling, many parents turned a blind eye to their children's screen time. Based on these and other findings from the research, Prijsvergelijken wrote several blogs, which were not only published on the Prijsvergelijken website but also shared on other blogs and various social media channels.
“As commissioning a study was new to us, considerable time was spent prior to the research in finding the right research agency. Ultimately, Markteffect was chosen, primarily due to the personalized guidance, direction, and support provided throughout the process. This was particularly appreciated for a first-time study. Markteffect's employees were friendly, helpful, and easily approachable. This significantly benefited the progress of the project.”
