Insight into apprentice and contractor satisfaction for Bouwmensen

Bouwmensen is the leading training provider for professionals in the construction industry. Young people are trained to become carpenters, bricklayers, and work planners, among other things, with theory and practice going hand in hand. The practical training often takes place at contractors who act as training companies.

To make the learning experience as effective as possible, Bouwmensen wanted to gain more insight into the satisfaction of both students and contractors, so that it could further improve the learning experience in the future.

Our approach

To gain insight into satisfaction, experiences, and future expectations, students from Bouwmensen and contractors who serve as training companies for Bouwmensen students were surveyed. A quantitative online survey was chosen because it allows reliable and representative results to be generated based on a large sample. This is crucial for measuring satisfaction among students and contractors and for making well-founded statements about it.

Both target groups were asked questions about their overall satisfaction, specific aspects of the training or collaboration, and their experiences and expectations for the future.

For the students, a practical approach was chosen whereby the questionnaires could be completed directly in class using QR codes. This method proved to be very effective, resulting in a good response rate at each location.

Results

The survey results provide Bouwmensen with insight into not only the current satisfaction levels of students and contractors, but also the underlying needs, expectations, and opportunities for improvement among its students and contractors. The Net Promoter Score (NPS) provides a clear picture of how loyal both target groups are and to what extent they would recommend Bouwmensen. In addition, it becomes clear which aspects are highly valued and in which areas there is still room for improvement.

To make the results even more concrete, a separate table report has been drawn up for the students at each location, so that each location can gain specific insight into its own results and areas for improvement. The research results provide Bouwmensen with clear guidelines for further increasing satisfaction among its students and contractors.
