The National Study Choice Research (NSKO) is a collaboration between educational institutions and Markteffect in which the behavior of young people regarding study choices is examined. We can conduct this research due to the strong relationships we maintain with our current clients.
The insights gained during this research provide relevance and knowledge that both educational institutions and students can utilize. Through quantitative research, we map out the most important themes concerning the study choice behavior of the current generation of prospective students (pupils and students). Where possible, we make a comparison with previous editions of the NSKO.
In addition to quantitative research, we also regularly conduct qualitative research within the NSKO, for example, through in-depth interviews or round table discussions.
Research into the study choice process
- The world of education is constantly evolving, and the way in which prospective students orient themselves toward further education is constantly changing.
It is important for educational institutions to carefully consider how they appeal to prospective students based on their experiences, where they do so, and what that message should be. The National Study Choice Survey sheds light on the study choice process and the choices that educational institutions can make to help prospective students.
- We conduct research into the orientation phase that individuals are in and why they choose a particular program. The research focuses on the factors that play a role (choice factors), the information (sources) they seek (information needs), and who plays a role in this (role of the environment). The results provide the most relevant insights into the study choice process.
- Based on reliable data from a large group of respondents, valuable input is provided to educational institutions to optimize their strategy for informing and recruiting students, with the aim of placing the right student in the right place.
What are the benefits of participating in the National Study Choice Survey?
- Understanding the study choice process of potential students at all levels;
- Practical visual reporting including conclusions and recommendations;
- Presentation of the research results during a knowledge and networking event with colleagues from participating educational institutions and a number of speakers at an inspiring location.
The NSKO will be conducted again at the end of 2025. Would you like to participate in this study? Please feel free to contact us!
