Desk research

Desk research involves researching all available data for the purpose of answering a research question. This available data has already been collected by others and therefore does not need to be collected again. Examples of this type of data include your customer base or figures made available by Statistics Canada. Desk research provides you with a relevant basis of information that helps you address your issue efficiently and effectively.

By analyzing existing data, such as figures from your customer base or public data, you gain immediate insight into trends, patterns, and opportunities that are important to your organization. It strengthens the relationship with your target group, because you can better respond to their behavior, needs, and preferences by understanding what motivates them.

In addition, desk research allows you to achieve better results because you base your decisions on factual information rather than assumptions, which not only provides a solid basis for further research but also contributes to more strategic choices.

“We believe it is extremely important to establish and maintain a lasting connection with all our stakeholders. For years, Markteffect helped us in several areas to continuously test, assess, and refine this connection. Markteffect employees are always on hand and act very effectively. Few words are needed to achieve maximum results.” - Emiel van den Bosch, Policy, Marketing & Communication Management, Van Hall Larenstein

Why choose us for desk research?

We employ staff who specialize in desk research. These employees know how to find the necessary information in an effective manner. By consulting the right sources and establishing the right contacts, our researchers are always able to find the information you need and provide you with feedback.

The source reference

A very important aspect of conducting desk research is consulting the right sources. For example, it makes a big difference whether information comes from an unknown website or from the Chamber of Commerce or Statistics Netherlands. We only consult and use sources whose reliability can be 100% guaranteed. The final report is accompanied by a list of sources.
