In-depth interviews

An in-depth interview is a form of qualitative research. Qualitative research is more suitable than quantitative research for uncovering the underlying motives of customers, employees, or consumers in order to achieve the desired result. An in-depth interview is ideal for discovering the underlying thoughts behind observed behavior or when individual opinions about your product or organization are important.

An in-depth interview provides valuable insights that can be applied immediately. This allows us to create the relevance we want to see in our research. This method offers concrete results that you can use to further develop your organization. We have a keen understanding of the market, thanks in part to the strong relationships we have built with our clients.

“In order to serve existing and future customers optimally, it is important for us to understand the market, the orientation method, and specific needs, not just in broad terms. Markteffect proven its ability to uncover these valuable details through its strategic insight and practical implementation.” - René de Jong, Sales Director Benelux TomTom

Why conduct an in-depth interview with us?

An in-depth interview is semi-structured. Due to the interactive nature of an interview, the conversation cannot be completely controlled. To ensure that all topics are covered during the conversation, our research specialist will draw up an interview script in consultation with you. This ensures that all predetermined topics are covered.

Due to the interactive nature of the interviews, it is therefore very important that the interviewer is suited to your target group and has knowledge of your organization.
This means that a different interviewer may be used for a research question in education than for a research question in financial services. We employ various specialists who are suited to your research question.

In addition, we have in-house facilities where qualitative research can be conducted. In-depth interviews can be conducted at various locations, usually at the interviewee's location. After all, it is important to make it as easy as possible for the respondent. It is also possible to conduct the interviews by telephone.

In-depth interviews as a supplement to quantitative research

In certain cases, in-depth interviews can also be a useful addition to quantitative research. This method can also help to better tailor the questionnaire for quantitative research, for example by identifying which aspects influence customer satisfaction.

In-depth interviews can also be used to find solutions to the pain points that emerged during the quantitative research. Conversely, quantitative research can also serve as a supplement to in-depth interviews, by showing whether the opinions and findings of the interviewees are representative of the entire target group.
