Markteffect Packaging research

Packaging is often the first touchpoint with a brand or product on the store shelf. When shopping online, instantly recognizable packaging is perhaps even more important. You only get one chance to make a first impression, which is why choosing the right packaging design is essential. Whether it's a new packaging shape, a new design, or a (minor) change to existing packaging, you want to know how your target audience will respond.

The ME Packaging Study provides answers to the following questions, among others:

  • Does the packaging of my product stand out on the retailer's shelf?
  • Does the new packaging succeed in communicating my message to consumers?
  • Does the consumer understand the message I want to convey with the packaging?

To gain early insight into these issues, Markteffect has developed Markteffect own research (including benchmarking). 

The ME packaging study

Markteffect developed its own online packaging survey that provides insight into the appreciation of a design. All packaging is tested (and possibly compared) within our Consumer Panel on five standardized aspects. In addition, it is also possible to add one or more customized questions to the survey. 

Thanks Markteffect its semi-automated design Markteffect offers a clear and effective tool for gaining quick and cost-efficient insight into the appreciation of (new) packaging forms and/or designs.

The ME Packaging Survey is already offered and conducted in more than 65 countries worldwide. 

Standard inclusion Benchmark: MPI Score 

Based on years of research, Markteffect has developed Markteffect validated benchmark: the Markteffect Index (MPI). This index combines six different aspects.

This index score puts the results of these studies into perspective at a glance and provides insight into whether the score you have achieved is a good score or not.
