Since the advent of online research, written research has been overtaken. Sometimes unjustifiably, because written research is an important method for various research questions and target groups.

Written surveys are the right method when respondents want to be given the option of choosing whether to complete the questionnaire on the spot or at home at their leisure. When conducting surveys, respondents may be in a hurry and therefore not have time to complete the questionnaire. If they can take a questionnaire home with them to complete, even rushed respondents can be approached.

Why conduct written research at Markteffect?

Written surveys are ideal for healthcare research, where the forms can be left in the waiting room, for example. Patients can then fill out the survey while they wait or take a form home with them. The receptionist only needs to point out the forms to patients.

By using self-mailers, an A4 form with perforated edges that folds into an envelope, the questionnaire can be sent easily, without incurring any costs.

Digitizing written surveys

Markteffect fieldwork team Markteffect specialized employees who are primarily involved in data entry. Data entry involves digitally processing paper surveys in the research software. This software can be used to perform accurate (statistical) analyses.

When large quantities of surveys are involved, a special scanner can be used to read the answers and automatically save them in the database. This makes written surveys suitable for both large-scale studies and studies with a smaller target group.
