International Online Survey
As part of an ongoing collaboration between the ministry and Markteffect, we were asked to assist in conducting a survey among Dutch citizens living abroad who were registered to vote in the March 2021 House of Representatives election. This will provide the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations with insight into the wishes and needs of Dutch citizens living abroad regarding the Dutch House of Representatives elections, in order to optimize future elections for this target group.
Due to the target group and the need for quantitative data, it was decided to conduct an online survey. The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations drafted the questions itself, after which we reviewed them critically from a research perspective. The municipality of The Hague sent an invitation email to participate in the survey to over 80,000 registered Dutch citizens living abroad.
Minister Ollongren (Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations) has incorporated the results of the study into her response to the questions regarding the evaluation of the House of Representatives election held on March 17, 2021. These questions were posed by the Standing Committee on Home Affairs of the House of Representatives. The results have also been included in a document submitted to the committee.
“Over the past year, we have had the opportunity to conduct a wide range of market research studies for the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. We are grateful for the trust placed in our organization and the contribution we are able to make in providing reliable insights. The next elections are approaching, and we also see opportunities for collaboration in the area of evaluation for the municipal elections.” - Hans de Jong, Client Consultant at Markteffect
